Empowering Hawaii’s next generation of music industry professionals.

IT HAS BEEN A LIFELONG DREAM TO CREATE AN ORGANIZATION SET UP TO GIVE BACK AND INSTILL THE LESSONS WE’VE LEARNED, TO HELP OTHERS WALK THE PATH OF MUSIC.

OUR COMMITMENT

Founded by The Green, our mission is to share the knowledge and experiences gained from our journey in the music industry to educate, inspire, and empower our community. Firmly established in the richness of our Hawaiian culture, we will provide opportunities that teach the art, business, and technical skills of music while also celebrating the traditions that have shaped our sound and identity.

MISSION

Ka Maʻo is dedicated to empowering Hawaii’s next generation of music industry professionals by providing programs and resources that inspire creativity, nurture talent, and cultivate future musicians, technicians, and industry leaders. Together, we aim to foster a thriving, innovative music community rooted in Hawaii’s rich cultural legacy.

LOLENA MUSIC PROGRAM

The Lolena Music Program aims to preserve and perpetuate ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi by providing professional recording opportunities at Ka Maʻo studios for artists across all genres, at no cost to awardees.

Named after ʻōlelo Hawai’i advocate Lolena Nicholas, the inaugural program will support singers and songwriters using ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi or seeking to preserve songs written in the language.

By fostering collaboration and innovation, the Lolena Music Program provides a dynamic space for creativity while promoting cultural heritage.
